Eileen Moran

Eileen Moran, Sound and Music Institute alumnus, is a certified therapeutic sound practitioner, director of programs at You Can Thrive! Foundation and founder of Architects of Experience, a retreat and event production company. She co-created the monthly practicum lab for the Integrative Sound and Music certificate program at The New York Open Center with Chris Cherney and is now a course coordinator. For nearly two decades Eileen has been studying and practicing healing arts modalities around the world. Her specialty is creating a conscious community by curating immersive programming with therapeutic sound, botanical medicine, meditation, yoga, integrative therapies and movement. An aromatherapist, Vijñāna Bhairava Tantra meditation teacher, herbalist and event producer, Eileen is a GWU Business School graduate and has studied with masters of sonotherapy and curanderas in Mexico at the Universidad Intercultural del Estado de México (UIEM).

Glen Velez is a four-time Grammy winning master drummer, founding father of the modern frame drum movement and Percussive Arts Society Hall of Fame inductee. Glen is regarded as a pioneer in music for healing with his groundbreaking recordings, Rhythms of the Chakras (SoundsTrue). Glen’s artistic innovations and 40 year research into the 5,000-year-old history of frame drums have opened new possibilities for musicians around the globe. Glen is an adjunct professor at The Juilliard School and The New School’s Mannes School of Music.

Pat Moffitt Cook, PhD

Pat Moffitt Cook, PhD, is the founder and director of the Open Ear Center in Santa Fe, New Mexico. She is a distinguished pioneer in the field of sound and cross-cultural musical healing applications in healthcare and education. Dr. Cook has extensive training and certifications in auditory stimulation and sensory integration methods including the Tomatis Method and the Listening Fitness Program (LiFT). She is a Fellow of the Association of Music and Imagery (FAMI) and certified in the Bonny Method of Guided Imagery and Music (GIM). Pat is a certified Vedic Chant teacher by the Krishnamacharya Healing and Yoga Foundation (KHYF) and a certified teacher in Vedic Healing Chant by the Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram (KYM), both institutions are in Chennai, South India. Pat trained six years with a Chinese/Indonesian grandmaster of martial and healing arts in Indonesia and the United States. Afterwards, she researched musical healing with a North Indian Hindu village healer near Varanasi for over a decade.

Dr. Ysaye M. Barnwell, PhD, is a prolific composer, master teacher and choral clinician conducting workshops around the world. She was a member of Sweet Honey in the Rock from 1979 to 2013. Dr. Barnwell studied violin for 15 years beginning at age 2 ½ and majored in music throughout high school. The programs Priscilla teaches also connect participants to the support of Priscilla’s ongoing healing-community online and in-person retreats. Priscilla currently works online due to the COVID-19 pandemic. She lives in upstate New York.
