How Cross-Cultural and Indigenous Music Therapies Can Be Used in Western Healthcare

with Pat Moffitt Cook

ABOUT THIS PROGRAM

A Two-Day Workshop
Saturday – Sunday, December 11-12, 2021
10:00 am – 12:30 pm & 2:00 – 5:30 pm ET

Led by Pat Moffitt Cook, a distinguished pioneer in the field of sound and cross-cultural musical healing applications, this course is a deep-dive into how healing the psyche through indigenous and traditional therapeutic music techniques can also heal the body.

With an emphasis on transcultural themes and addressing the needs of multiethnic client/patient populations, this program explores indigenous and traditional cross-cultural therapeutic techniques and sound/music repertoires used in Western healthcare settings today.

Students will learn how sound and music are used as diagnostic tools, healing agents and connectors to spiritual domains, and how each of these elements create and construct a dynamic healing session.

Each session is conducted through lecture, demonstrations, individual, dyad and group experiences, discussion and audiovisual presentations.

Note: This program will now be offered online. It will be recorded and shared with registrants after each online program for three months (90 days).
