ABOUT THIS PROGRAM
A One-Day Workshop
Sunday, April 10, 2022
10:00 am – 12:30 pm; 2:00 – 5:30 pm ET
Creative improvisation supports one’s ability to harness the emotional, aesthetic, organizing and communicative powers of music through live interactive improvisation. During this workshop, practical musical resources will be introduced through shared clinical examples and experiential music-making activities with a focus on interaction and instrumental, vocal, physical, verbal and emotional goal-directed improvisation.
Participants will begin to understand how to improvise compositionally, creating melodic phrases, rhythmic patterns and songs, which they can develop and use in their therapeutic practice or use as a tool for personal development. They also become familiar with various music-centered treatment strategies, including how to invite musical development for themselves and/or their clients to meet their goals.
Note: This program will now be offered online. It will be recorded and shared with registrants after each online program for three months (90 days).
