About This Training
A 9-Month, 130-Hour Online Certification Training
Saturday, October 16, 2021 – Sunday, June 13, 2022
The Integrative Sound and Music Institute (SMI) certificate program is a comprehensive multicultural, multi-disciplinary and highly experiential approach to the study of sound, music and voice and their powerful effect on the mind, body and spirit. Our program, now in its fourteenth year offers students an in-depth study of the therapeutic power of sound and music to transform consciousness and improve well-being. A certification is offered to those who meet the program requirements. No previous experience in music and sound work is required.
This broad-based inquiry into Sound and its impact on healing focuses on giving students a direct, first-hand experience into sound healing practices and applications with the intent of developing and maintaining a Sound practice of their own.
Program Details
Sound Clinics and Integration sessions are offered throughout the program to enable students the practical applications necessary to practice professionally. Sessions are offered in methods and strategies to integrate the use of the healing systems taught in the training into a healing practice as well as for professional enrichment. Additionally, students work with a mentor who is fully experienced in Sound and Music therapies. Our mentors are among the most professionally trained graduates of either the SMI program or the California of Integral Studies sound certificate program.
Each month there are several home study assignments. Assignments include written assignments, personal projects, and group collaborations. Assignments are designed to support the online workshops and take individual learning to a deeper level of understanding of course work.
These assignments are an opportunity to expand and personalize the learning experience of Sound and Music. Students are expected to stay current with all assignments to ensure a shared learning environment for all class members.
