ABOUT THIS PROGRAM
An Evening Concert
Friday, February 12, 2021, 7:30 – 9:00 pm EST
Join us for the modern merging of two melodic instruments that have been played together for centuries, and the merging of two master musicians of the disciplines: Tomas Rodriguez on guitar and Kevin Nathaniel on mbira. The program will range from traditional songs from Zimbabwe to contemporary compositions, from Flamenco to Afro-Brazilian guitar classics, as both musicians explore the polyphonic potential of an ancient partnership rooted in Africa.
Note: After tonight’s concert, Kevin will chat with Tomas and will welcome some Q&A from the audience.
Note: Please be sure you use a headset or headphones with your laptop/computer to have the best experience during this event.
Note: This is the first of a series of four evenings curated by Kevin Nathaniel, director of Afro Roots. (Following dates: February 19, 26 & March 5, 2021. Special Group Price available for all 4 concerts. View all concerts & group discount HERE.)
Note: This program will be offered online. Sessions of all our online programs will be recorded and shared with registrants after each is completed for 90 days.
